We are looking for an amazing CAD Designer to fill this role, which is based in our Fort Lauderdale office. This role requires an experienced senior-level CAD Designer who is responsible for producing and reviewing complex technical drawings, 3D models, and design documentation in support of engineering projects. This role requires advanced CAD expertise, the ability to work independently on highly technical assignments, and leadership in mentoring junior designers. The CAD Designer collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet functional, regulatory requirements. The senior level CAD Designer is responsible for updating ship drawings to reflect changes, preparing documentation for class and flag submissions, and supporting drydock planning. They maintain an organized drawing index with strict version control, provide CAD support across the cruise fleet, and collaborate with technical teams and external stakeholders to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities
Update and revise general arrangement (GA) and Emergency plans, structural modifications, piping systems, outfitting details, and other shipboard drawings to reflect as-built conditions, repairs, or upgrades across the cruise fleet.
Prepare drawings and documentation packages for submission to classification societies and flag states, ensuring compliance with IMO, SOLAS, and other relevant maritime standards.
Work closely with the Dry Dock Coordinator, Technical Superintendents, and onboard teams to develop and maintain the drydock activity plan, ensuring technical drawings align with project timelines and scope.
Maintain a structured drawing index for each vessel, ensuring consistent file naming, proper revision tracking, and that the latest approved versions are readily available to the fleet support team and ship staff.
Implement version control protocols and ensure that outdated or superseded drawings are archived and clearly marked, minimizing the risk of using obsolete plans.

Provide ongoing CAD support for ship improvement projects, public area refits, technical system upgrades, and regulatory compliance efforts.
Liaise with onboard technical teams, classification society surveyors, project engineers, and external vendors to coordinate drawing requirements and resolve discrepancies.
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Leadership and Engagement Skills
Senior level V AutoCAD required with demonstrated experience in a marine or cruise ship environment.
Strong knowledge of cruise ship layouts, systems (HVAC, piping, electrical), structural components, and outfitting.
Familiarity with class society rules and submission procedures (DNV, Lloyd’s Register, ABS, etc.).
Experience supporting drydock projects and major ship refurbishments.
High attention to detail, good organizational skills, and disciplined approach to document control.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary technical team.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
This position is considered Hybrid and follows the Company’s schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday – Thursday)
Beginning in 2028, this position will remain on the same Tuesday–Thursday in-office schedule but will transition to our new headquarters in the Miami, FL area.
