Human Resources Manager – Fairbanks, AK

Our Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge team is looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources Manager. This role involves developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organization's goals. The Human Resources Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, ability to handle complex HR issues, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of HR practices.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the offsite employee housing community to include: room assignments for seasonal employees, proper execution of room check in and check outs, random room inspections, and annual ordering and inventory of furniture and small wares.
- Supporting business leaders through the development, implementation and enforcement of all extensive HR processes.
- Manage the entire onboarding, offboarding and training processes for all new hires.
- Oversee payroll and timekeeping.
- Guide operations in all aspects of employee relations by maintaining HR procedures that comply with labor regulations and ensuring compliance.
- Administers the Rewards and Incentives and Employee Program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
- Minimum of 2 years experience in human resources management with hotels, resorts, cruise ships, or related industry.
- Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
- Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis.
- Experience creating and managing HR strategies and goals; delivering results through your team.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
- Ability to support business leaders; coaching and consulting with them in growing the business and selecting and developing their teams.
- Ability to influence across levels and partners (e.g. hourly team members, supervisors and managers).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).

- Ability to stand, walk, work on feet for minimum of 8 hours/day.
