We’re looking for an amazing Assistant Guest Services Manager to fill this role, which is based in our Fairbanks, AK office. You’ll be responsible for managing a seasonal team of 75+ seasonal employees and will help ensure overall management coverage for the entire division.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the local team during the operating season and performs “Manager on Duty” responsibilities.
  • Operations are 7-days/ week during the summer operating season – flexibility is a must leading up to and during the operating Season.
  • Assists with recruiting & hiring all seasonal positions within the division.
  • Oversees training & management of guest service seasonal operations supervisors and staff.
  • Assist with guest relations issues and tour interruptions.
  • Schedules seasonal staff.
  • Assists and participates with local SAY & HESS initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation or hospitality management.
  • Proven track record of managing staff and operations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience with scheduling and dispatching transportation services.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized reservations systems, Excel and Word.
  • The ability to prioritize work and maintain attention to time constraints while working in a team or group environment. 
  • You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise and manage staff. 
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Comply with company health and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • You must have a current, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be requested.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Holland America Line/Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in a business environment is preferred.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees, management, and customers.
