Job Description


The IT Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of all IT/AV operations and infrastructure at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. Reporting to senior management, this role leads the IT department to ensure alignment with organizational goals, technology innovation, and operational excellence. The IT Manager drives digital transformation initiatives, manages vendor relationships, and ensures enterprise-level cybersecurity and data governance. This position requires a visionary leader with strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. The IT Manager serves as the key liaison between IT and other business functions, ensuring seamless integration, compliance, and optimal performance of all systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Leadership & Strategy 

  • Define and communicate clear departmental vision, goals, and KPIs aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and succession planning while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as primary liaison between IT and other business functions.
  • Represent IT in executive-level planning and decision-making forums.
  • Communicate IT performance, risks, and opportunities to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with managers, employees, support teams, and external partners.

Systems & Infrastructure Management 

  • Lead planning and implementation of system upgrades, infrastructure changes, and new technology deployments.
  • Ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of all IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Implement monitoring, diagnostics, and maintenance protocols.
  • Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Conduct proactive system diagnostics and regular audits.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives and integration of emerging technologies.
  • Maintain protocols for managing network equipment, end-user devices, and AV systems.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Design and manage data backup and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Lead strategic cybersecurity initiatives and ensure compliance with global standards.
  • Coordinate incident response and risk mitigation with relevant teams.

Project, Budget & Operational Oversight 

  • Direct strategic IT projects from conception to deployment, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Approve technical specifications and oversee quality assurance processes.
  • Review documentation and develop procedural and operations manuals to support knowledge management.
  • Monitor and schedule system upgrades to meet operational and technology standards.
  • Manage IT budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Ensure IT equipment and inventory are tracked, maintained, and aligned with operational needs.

  • Troubleshooting skills in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of business operations, such as financial and personnel management. 
  • Knowledge of project management practices and processes, such as scheduling, budgeting, and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with enterprise tools such as Active Directory, SCCM, EPO, MDM enrollment and support, Wi-Fi and VoIP troubleshooting and IT documentation. 

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Certifications in the technical field, such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Linux or Cisco networking certification.
  • At least 4 years minimum experience in IT leadership or enterprise-level support.
  • Experience with networked device management using Cisco and routers, switches, and wireless access points. Microsoft Office.
  • Proficiency with Cisco, Microsoft, and Linux. 
  • Knowledge of IT industry standards for security and anti-virus best practices. 
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems. 
  • Understanding of most recent computer system upgrades.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically fit. 
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment as needed.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data entry and reporting tools.
  • Detail orientated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task and think critically
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong planning and coordination skills, especially in handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • May be requested to work a shift schedule while at any of the destinations.
