The Activities Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, organization, and execution of events and activities designed to engage guests or clients and enhance their overall experience at one or more Carnival Corporation owned and operated global destination. This role involves coordinating schedules, supervising activities on-site, and ensuring that events run smoothly and safely. The Activities Coordinator works to create a fun, dynamic, and inclusive atmosphere while maintaining the highest level of customer service. Additionally, this position collaborates with team members and other departments to ensure activities meet organizational standards, respond to guest needs, and continuously improve the overall quality and enjoyment of events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Guest Services & Engagement
- Assist with check-in and check-out of guests for activities and events.
- Connect and interact effectively with guests to enhance their experience.
- Assist with guest queries in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
- Extend appropriate greetings to all guests and staff, using names whenever possible.
- Assist in fostering a fun, safe, and enjoyable environment for guests.
2. Event Planning & Support
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and setup of guest activities and events, including arranging equipment, materials, and activity spaces to ensure everything is ready and organized prior to start times.
- Support the execution of activities by coordinating schedules, guiding participants, and ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to anticipate and address logistical needs, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and maintain a high-quality, enjoyable experience for all guests.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
- Follow all safety regulations during activities and provide first aid support if required.
- Follow correct reporting procedures when faced with issues.
- Adhere to company standards regarding dress and appearance.
4. Additional Duties & Team Support
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or designee to support the overall operations and success of guest activities and events.
- Assist team members as needed, providing guidance, support, and collaboration to ensure seamless execution of daily activities.
- Step in to address unexpected situations, operational challenges, or guest needs to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
- Contribute to team meetings, share feedback, and suggest improvements to enhance processes, teamwork, and overall guest satisfaction.
SKILLS SPECIFICS:
- Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to think critically and respond to dynamic situations.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and positively with guests and team members.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED or experience in related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in events, hospitality, or a related industry, with prior guest-facing and customer service experience.
- Previous work experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in conversational English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be physically fit and able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment as needed.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and basic computer skills relevant to the role.
- Detail orientated with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to multi-task and think critically
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong planning and coordination skills, especially in handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- May be requested to work a shift schedule while at any of the destinations.
