Our Parks (Denali and Talkeetna) Transportation and Guest Services department is seeking a dynamic Administration Manager to join their team. In this role, you will oversee the division’s payroll, human resources, financial transactions and reports.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll processing/management, expense and budget tracking
- Employee onboarding and HR Resources management/support. Includes providing assistance and support for all recruiting, interviewing and hiring activities.
- Inventory control/supply ordering.
- Train seasonal and full time staff on company policies and procedures: HR, payroll, handbook compliance and distribution.
- Employee engagement: lead efforts in employee activities, HESS, and SAY initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- This job normally requires a professional level of knowledge in financial accounting equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree (Business of HR preferred). Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
- This job normally requires five years of progressively responsible positions in administration.
- Proven experience in budget tracking.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of HR practices.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Participates in HAP’s sustainability program, aka “Sustain Alaska & the Yukon”, and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.
- Participate in HAP’s safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.

- Must be able to legally work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Has knowledge in Alaska State Wage and Hours laws and payroll rules and regulations.
- Ability to ensure timely expense reporting, HR compliance training for seasonal employees, and accurate payroll records.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
- Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate with all team members and use leadership skills to professionally interact with staff, support fellow managers, and problem solve.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
