This position supports the Health, Environment, Safety, and Security (HESS) Department in meeting Grand Turk Cruise Center (GTCC) standards and commitments through the consistent application of established policies and procedures. The RWFA is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and visually appealing swimming pools and water features across GTCC properties.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain cleanliness and water quality of swimming pools and fountains located throughout the property, including Taxi Stand, Margaritaville, and Dufry
- Perform routine pool and fountain maintenance, including vacuuming, brushing, sweeping, tile cleaning, and removal of debris from pool decks and surrounding areas
- Ensure public swimming areas remain safe, clean, and presentable at all times
- Promptly report any public health or safety incidents (e.g., vomit, blood, or fecal incidents), particularly on ship call days, to the HESS Supervisor or Technicians
- Assist HESS Technicians during Public Health Inspections (PDI) and Public Vessel Inspections (PVI), when required
- Ensure all pool cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment are available, properly maintained, and in good working condition
- Use pool cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and punctually according to scheduled work assignments
- Under the direction of the Assistant Manager or Supervisor, assist with procurement requests and ensure proper usage of supplies
- Ensure all work communication equipment, including radios, is returned, signed out, and properly stored at the end of each shift
- Maintain compliance with all GTCC, HESS, and safety policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager or Supervisor
Language Requirements
- Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and courteously with guests and employees
- Ability to read and write English to understand standard operating procedures, safety instructions, and written communications
- Ability to give and receive instructions verbally and in writing and effectively respond to questions from supervisors, co-workers, and guests
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands to handle tools, equipment, and materials
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently
- Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to hear and communicate clearly during routine operations and emergency situations
- Must be physically capable of participating in emergency response and lifesaving drills
- Full range of motion of arms and legs and full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities required to receive and give instructions in emergency situationsby consistently applying,emergenciessituations by them in in emergency situations.the
