Our Anchorage Division Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and performance of the division’s operations, including administration, sales and services, transportation and passenger services, port operations, maintenance, training, and sanitation programs. This role ensures compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, safety and health standards, and environmental requirements.

You will continuously evaluate divisional operations to identify trends, recommend improvements, and implement procedural changes that drive customer satisfaction while meeting defined financial and profitability objectives. All responsibilities are executed in alignment with Company policies, organizational goals, and applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage divisional transportation services, passenger services, port operations, sales, maintenance, training, and administrative programs.
  • Ensure achievement of sales targets, customer satisfaction standards, and operating and financial objectives.
  • Prepare and manage the annual division budget; monitor financial performance and take corrective action as needed.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee all divisional DOT compliance programs to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with the Company’s HESS (Health, Environmental, Sanitation, & Safety) programs.
  • Ensure prompt, accurate communication related to compliance, safety, and health matters.
  • Responsible for the employment lifecycle of direct reports, including hiring, supervision, performance management, salary administration, discipline, and employee development.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor divisional activities and programs to identify operational trends.
  • Recommend, develop, amend, and implement procedures and process improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Prepare and analyze operational, compliance, and performance reports; communicate findings effectively to leadership and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field or multiple years’ experience in the transportation field including prior management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation or fleet management, preferably in a large-scale or remote environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fleet maintenance, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain necessary certifications for fleet operations including Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement.
  • Travel to the Port Operations in Whittier, AK.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational and financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead diverse teams and manage multiple functional areas simultaneously.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to safety, compliance, and customer service.
  • Proficiency with standard business software and reporting tools.
  • Primarily office-based with regular presence in operational environments such as terminals, ports, maintenance facilities, and vehicles.
  • Must be able to respond to operational issues outside of normal business hours as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
