CSMART is looking for a motivated Junior Engineer to join our Maritime Simulation Studies Team. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or junior professional with an academic background in coastal /ocean/civil engineering, hydrodynamics, or a closely related technical discipline.
You will help prepare and deliver cruise ship maneuvring simulations, mooring analyses and hydrodynamic studies for the Carnival Corporation fleet. Working alongside experienced engineers and specialists, you will build foundational expertise in the following areas:
- Maritime Simulator Operations
- Static and dynamic Mooring Analysis
- Hydrodynamic Flow Modelling
We are not looking for a fully developed specialist. We are looking for someone with sound engineering fundamentals from a relevant technical study background, strong analytical potential, curiosity, and a growth mindset, who is eager to develop expertise across multiple simulation disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare simulator exercises and operate Wartsila simulator software and data collection tools
- Prepare berth, vessel, and wave models for static and dynamic mooring analyses with Tension Technology International Optimoor and DHI MIKE Ports and Maritime software suites
- Conduct static and dynamic mooring analyses for Cruise ship Captains and Marine Pilots during simulation studies, and prepare technical reports afterwards
- Prepare 2d and 3d hydrodynamic flow models with DHI MIKE software suite, including the development of tidal current atlases
- Perform analysis and interpretation of metocean data, including tides, currents, and waves
Requirements & Experience
- Recent graduate or junior professional (MSc) with up to two years of relevant experience in coastal /ocean/civil engineering, hydrodynamics, or a closely related technical discipline
- Internship, research, or graduate project experience involving mooring analysis, numerical modelling, hydrodynamics, or coastal/ocean engineering is considered an advantage
Skills & Competencies
- Growth mindset, curiosity, and genuine eagerness to learn new disciplines and develop professionally within the simulation studies team
- Experience with Tension Technology International Optimoor software, DHI Ports and Maritime software suite, or similar engineering and analytical software is desirable
- Strong IT and coding literacy, including Phyton and advanced Microsoft Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
